It was a great day to break records! The sun was shining, it was cool but not too cold. There were six buses full of students, most of whom ran, jumped and threw all day. Participation amongst the seniors was spectacular. We had a group of Avondale University College PDHPE students come and help which was greatly appreciated. The House Captains motivated and encouraged as well as breaking some records themselves.
We had 8 new records set this year:
Liam B extended the 18 years boys high jump record to 1.90m.
Antwon M added 5m to the 15 years boys discus record, as well as raising the record bar for high jump.
Shakaya S added more than 2m to the 18 years girls discus record.
Stephanie E set a blistering new 100m record for the 16 years girls.
Sadie S just beat the discus record for the 14 years girls.
Luke S was 2 seconds faster in the 800m event for 13 years boys.
Lara H smashed 4 seconds off the 18 years girls 800m record.
